Process
Xiety is a fictional supplementary academic service, meant for college students.
Xiety works by giving users points for turning in assignments, with the early the work is turned in, the more points earned. These points can then be spent on various rewards that range from fun site cosmetics like site themes, to real world items like appliances, electronics, and gift cards.
The site design is intended to be simple and friendly, with a calming purple color scheme, the use of rounded shapes, and a cartoonish art style. The interface is meant to be clear and easily understood, with contrasting colors, text styles, and breadcrumb navigation all helping a user understand where they are at all times.
The dragon character featured in the illustrations is the Xiety mascot, Xavier. Their purpose is to serve as a motivating figure as students use the site. They can be customized with various rewards, changing their color and what creature they are. These are purely visual rewards, as there is no gameplay, since the site isn’t intended to be a stressor or distraction.
