The organization wanted to raise awareness of their work as well as garner donations to maintain their facilities. To increase this year’s registration, they expanded the event to include both in-person and online participation.
The main focus of this campaign was “action” to play off of the fact that the event was a race. The hero image for the digital display ad features a boy and a dog running. The divider between the image and the rest of the ad is diagonal to further the feel of movement. The header and footer of the ad are contained in red stripes against a dark blue background, reminiscent of racing lines. Lastly, the faded trail of dog prints brings attention to the call-to-action button, encouraging the viewer to click it.
The animated ad shares the colors and typography of the digital display ad, with the added dimension of animation. The text shifts from a question to an answer, before settling on an encouragement for the viewer to join in on the fun. When the text reads “Join us!” The call-to-action button lights up for emphasis.
